Why in News?

*The World Economic Forum (WEF) on October 16, 2018 released the Global Competitiveness Report 2018. 
About Global Competitiveness Index:
*The Global Competitiveness Report is a yearly report distributed by the World Economic Forum. Since 2004, the Global Competitiveness Report positions nations dependent on the Global Competitiveness Index.
*The 2018 version of the Global Competitiveness Report presented the new Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 (GCI 4.0). The new record reveals insight into a rising arrangement of drivers of efficiency and long haul development in the time of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

India's Rank:

*India was positioned as the 58th most aggressive economy with a score of 62.0 on the Global Competitiveness Index 2018. India bounced five spots from 2017, the biggest gain among G20 economies.
*India positioned most noteworthy among South Asian nations. Sri Lanka was positioned 86th, Bangladesh 103rd, Pakistan 107th and Nepal 109th.
*Among the BRICS economies, China topped the list at 28th place with a score of 72.6, ahead of the Russian Federation, India, South Africa, and Brazil.
*According to the report, India drives the district in every other region of aggressiveness with the exception of wellbeing, instruction and aptitudes. According to the report, India's most prominent upper hands incorporate its market size and development.
